Crazy About Clay
Clay has been on this Earth since before humankind. It has been used by both animals and people longer than our written history accounts for. Recorded use by humans dates back over 4,000 years ago. It is also common to find animals eating clay on a regular basis in order to consume the myriad of minerals it contains. If your children are playing outside in the clay, allow them to create as many mud pies as they desire, because the benefits of the clay coming into contact with their skin far outweigh any extra costs on your laundry bill.

I am super excited to announce that for a limited time, I will be using in my holistic facials, pure clay that I personally mined from a volcanic hot spring lake in the heart of Nicaragua. Laguna de Apoyo, a pristine lake on a nature preserve, was once home to an active volcano. 23,000 years ago it erupted and then imploded leaving a large crater with lava continuing to flow underneath the ground. Over time rain filled the crater to create a magnificent lake, where the hot springs are still active, warming it up to the temperature of bath water. I was fortunate enough to visit this place recently and was doubly blessed to be allowed to take with me several pounds of the healing clay that surrounds the lake bed near the hot springs.
